Getting To Know Us
We're a locally rooted remodeling team helping homeowners and businesses across Topeka and Lawrence make thoughtful upgrades to their windows, doors, and floors.
Our Story
Construction Remodeling & Design was founded in 2006 to give Topeka homeowners a straightforward, dependable contractor for windows, doors, and flooring, instead of juggling separate specialty vendors for each part of a remodel. What started as a Topeka-based operation has since grown to include Lawrence, Kansas, as more homeowners and light commercial clients in the area asked for the same direct, hands-on approach. The business has kept its focus narrow on purpose, sticking to the trades we know well rather than expanding into unrelated services.

Why Terry Started This Business
Terry Lester spent years working construction trades before starting Construction Remodeling & Design, and along the way he saw how often homeowners were let down by inconsistent quality and poor communication from the contractors they hired. 20 years of experience shaped his decision to build a business where he could take direct ownership of every project rather than handing clients off between subcontractors. He wanted homeowners and business owners to always know exactly who was doing the work in their space, and to be able to reach that same person directly if something wasn't right. That commitment is still the foundation of how the company operates today.
"I wanted customers to know exactly who's doing the work in their home, and to be able to call that same person if something's not right."
